Já saiu o primeiro trailer da sequela que se tornou uma prequela de Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), The Huntsman: Winters War, que estreia a 22 de Abril de 2016. Os pósters revelam as personagens principais: Chris Hemsworth como Eric, the Huntsman; Emily Blunt como Freya, The Ice Queen; Charlize Theron como Ravenna, The Evil Queen; e Jessica Chatain como Sara, The Warrior.
A sinopse oficial é a seguinte:
Long before the evil Queen Ravenna (Theron) was thought vanquished by Snow White’s blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya (Blunt), suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya’s ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen - including Eric (Hemsworth) and warrior Sara (Chastain) - only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love.
When Freya learns of her sister’s demise, she summons her remaining soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror home to the only sorceress left who can harness its power. But once she discovers Ravenna can be resurrected from its golden depths, the wicked sisters threaten this enchanted land with twice the darkest force it’s ever seen. O trailer parece cheio de acção e os efeitos especiais não perecem maus, para além disso, o filme tem um elenco de luxo (com Chris Hemsworth ainda em modo Thor) e quase dá vontade de voltar a ver a Charlize Theron como Evil Queen, uma vez que só no trailer dá para ver que ela rouba as cenas todas em que entra. De qualquer forma, o filme só pode ser melhor sem a actriz que fez de Snow White no outro filme, mas como grande parte do que se faz em Hollywood hoje em dia, era escusado pegarem nestas personsgens novamente, uma vez que já existem tantas versões desta história tanto no cinema como na televisão.
