A 21º cerimónia dos Critics's Choice Awards para Cinema e Televisão teve lugar Domingo, dia 17 de Janeiro de 2016 com transmissão do canal A&E e com apresentação de T. J. Miller. Os grandes vencedores foram Spotlight e Mad Max: Fury Road em cinema; e Fargo, Master of None e Mr. Robot em televisão.

Os vencedores dos Emmys, os prémios de televisão, foram anunciados na 66ª. Cerimónia dos Primetime Emmy Awards, a 25 de Agosto no canal NBC, com apresentação de Seth Meyers. 

As primeiras surpresas foram os merecidos prémios para Sherlock, a minha série preferida dos últimos três anos, que venceu na categoria de Melhor Actor em Minissérie para Benedict Cumberbatch, Melhor Actor Secundário em Minissérie para Martin Freeman e o Melhor Argumento em Minissérie para Steven Moffat, para além de mais quatro prémios nas categorias secundárias, o que fez da série, tecnicamente, a mais premiada da noite com sete Emmys. Destaque para Fargo que levou o Emmy de Melhor Minissérie e The Normal Heart o de Melhor Filme Televisivo. Jessica Lange é a Melhor Actriz em Minissérie por American Horror Story: Coven e Katy Bates levou o Emmy pela mesma série como Melhor Actriz Secundária em Minissérie.

Claro que a série Breaking Bad, do canal AMC, foi, de facto, a grande vencedora dos Emmys com seis estatuetas ao todo, incluindo Melhor Série Dramática, Melhor Actor para Bryan Cranston, Melhor Actor Secundário para Aaron Paul e Melhor Actriz Secundária para Anna Gunn. A série de canal AMC conseguiu igualar a série Sopranos da HBO, que até agora era a única que tinha vencido o prémio principal na categoria de drama na sua última temporada. Juliana Margulies venceu na categoria de Melhor Actriz de Drama pela série The Good Wife e no seu discurso mencionou o facto de fazer parte de uma série que tem mais de vinte episódios (que ela afirmou serem todos muitos bons), salientando assim o facto de muitas séries nomeadas terem apenas oito a dez episódios, coisa que acontece, por exemplo, com as séries da HBO (que normalmente têm uma maior qualidade que séries mais extensas). Numa categoria em que estavam nomeadas a Claire Danes, a Robin Wright e a Kerri Washington, é uma pena escolherem a Juliana.

Na comédia nada de novo, Modern Family levou o Emmy pela quinta vez sucessiva, Jim Parsons venceu por The Big Bang Theory e Julia Louis-Dreyfus por Veep. Nas categorias Secundárias, Ty Burell por Modern Family e Allison Janney por Mom (Allison também venceu na Categoria de Melhor Actriz Convidada em Masters of Sex). Não sei qual será a melhor série de comédia altualmente, mas só vejo Modern Family esporadicamente, mas sou viciada em The Big Bang Theory.

Nuna noite em que os principais canais vencedores foram o FX, o CBS e o AMC, os principais derrotados foram o HBO e o Netflix. Séries como Game of Thrones, Orange is the New Black, True Detective (que parecia ser a grande rival de Breaking Bad), Shameless, Mad Man, House of Cards, Mad Man e Downton Abbey foram esquecidas. O mesmo aconteceu com vários actores veteranos como foi o caso de Julia Roberts e vários actores de The Normal Heart, que apesar das poderosas interpretações, não venceram, assim como Matthew McConaughey e Billy Bob Thornton.

Creio que a maior injustiça foi prémio de Melhor Actor Secundário. Gosto muito do papel de Aaron Paul em Breaking Bad, mas o Peter Dinklage merecia o Emmy por Game of Thrones, embora o Aaron o tenha levado por ser a última temporada da série. Por último, falta mencionar que colocaram Shameless na categoria errada e mais uma vez esqueceram o trabalho fabuloso de Emmy Rossum e foi vergonhoso nem terem nomeado a Tatiana Maslany por Orphan Black, mas pronto, como é uma série de ficção científica, é fácil esquecê-la.
