Lauren Kate nasceu em 1981 em Dallas, nos E. U. A., frequentou a escola em Atlanta e começou a escrever em Nona Iorque.
Escritora de ficção para jovens, ficou conhecida por The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove e a Série Fallen que atingiram o terceiro lugar na lista de Best Seller para crianças do The New York Times. 

Actualmente, vive em Los Angeles e trabalha no último livro da série Fallen, Rapture.
