Os vencedores dos prémios Hugo foram anunciados a 20 de Agosto de 2016 numa cerimónia na MidAmeriCon II, na 74ª Concenção Mundial de Ficção Científica. Algumascategorias ficaram sem prémio e The Fifth Season de N.K. Jemisin levou o prémio de melhor romance.
